New M.A.S.H print!

My tribute to a iconic classic TV show that I grew up watching as a kid. I just loved all the characters and the fast paced script writing, so many great one liners!

This three colour hand pulled screen print measures 50cm x 70cm, 19.68” x 27.55” (approx) and is printed on 250gsm art stock. Each print is signed & numbered and is strictly limited to an edition of only 250 so once they’re gone they’re gone.

Trainspotting

The first Trainspotting film was one of those films that seemed to capture a generation and it takes me back to summer days listening to the excellent soundtrack. I was asked by The Red Door Gallery in Edinburgh to come up with a Trainspotting print to coincide with the sequel which I thought was pretty good too.

This two colour hand pulled screen print measures 50cm x 70cm 19.6″ x 27.5″ (approx) and is printed on 250gsm art stock. Each print is signed & numbered and is strictly limited to an edition of 250 so once they’re gone they’re gone.

The Dude abides

Look what came through the post today!

Last year I was asked by an Italian publisher if I would be part of a collaborative art book project based on the Cult Cohen brothers film ‘The Big Lebowski’, of course I said yes! The book as well as featuring my second ‘Dude’ screen print also showcases artwork by 66 artists from all over the world.

It really ties the room together man.

Geek T-Shirts!

Hey all! Well in anticipation for a lovely summer (fingers crossed) I’ve launched a new range of t-shirts inspired by  my print designs. Perfect for the geek in your life!

So far in the range is Flux, Convention, Cantina Band, Better call Saul, Time and The Dude. They are available in Medium, Large and XL, with the Convention design also available in small.

I’ve only used quality Starworld T-shirts as they are WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production) certified. This guarantees that their t-shirts are produced under lawful, humane, and ethical conditions. They are also certified GOTS, (the Global Organic Textiles Standard), so the cotton they use is grown without the use of chemicals and is not genetically modified.

The Ensign Who Loved Me

For the past couple of years I’ve donated some of my prints to a charity auction at the Hal-Con in Nova Scotia Canada. Last year Harry Kim (Garrett Wang) from Star Trek Voyager was the guest auctioneer and when I was told he’s be doing it again I suggested that I did a special limited edition print that featured him. Apparently he really liked it and kept a copy for himself. Below is my copy that was sent back to me signed by Garrett himself!

Birmingham NEC Comic Con!

Last weekend was my first big Comic Con. It was quite an experience, fantastic to see all the Cosplay people as well as the 501st but I think the highlight for me was meeting two of the actors from ‘Allo ‘Allo, very fond memories of watching it as a child.

Stoke Comic Con

Yesterday I had a table at Stokes very first comic con! It was a great first event, lots of people came and it was great!

My highlight would have to be meeting James Cosmo (Jeor Mormont) and Josef Altin (Pypar) from Game of Thrones my favourite TV show at the moment. I had a chance to chat over a coffee with Josef before the event and I can genuinely say he was a very nice chap, I’m sure Mr Cosmo is also a very nice guy but I didn’t really get to talk to him as he was on his way to a question panel.

Leicester Print Workshop Demo

Yesterday I was back in the Leicester Print Workshop after a long absence. I especially made the trip in to see Gemma Wright as she was giving a demo on a couple of new screen printing products that I hope to use in some future work.

I also found out that Gemma is leaving the workshop next month to pastures new. It was the ‘Introduction to Screen Printing’ course that was run by Gemma, where I first learnt how to screen print and got hooked, she taught me pretty much everything I know about screen printing! So I would just like to say a big thank you for her advice and help and wish her the very best in her new job! I know she’ll be greatly missed.

It was a fab weekend with good weather and a great turn out, so would just like to say a big thanks to everyone that came, and especially to those that parted with their hard earned cash and bought one of my screen prints! Also a big thank you to Janet for letting me display my work in her lovely home and for all the tea and cake!

Beautiful Freak!

For those that don’t know The Eels are a Californian alternative rock band, formed by singer/songwriter Mark Oliver Everett, better known as “E”. I’ve been a huge fan ever since their first album was released around the time I was doing my A’ levels and being a teen I was prone to listening to music that could be described as melancholy but some of their stuff is actually quite joyful and upbeat!

This 2 colour hand pulled screen print measures 50cm x 70cm (approx) and is printed on 270gsm acid free art stock. Each print is signed & numbered and is strictly limited to an edition of only 100 so as always once they’re gone they’re gone!

New works & 6/8 Kafe Exhibition

Hey all, and a happy new year!

2013 was a busy year and I hope to continue and be just as productive this year! I’ve got quite a few new prints ideas which I’m quite excited about so I thought I’d let you know what I’ve got planned…

Something on my to-do list for some time has been a Sherlock inspired print, as I’m a big fan of Benedict Cumberbatch and the new Sherlock character. Also as this year is the 100th aniversary of the 1st world war I thought it would be a perfect oppertunity to play homage to one of my all time favourite tv shows Black Adder Goes Forth and talking of old tv shows I read somewhere that Monty Python are having a reunion tour so I think a Ministry of Silly Walks print might be in order. As well as these I also have planned (time permitting) prints inspired by Ferris Bueller, Withnail & I, Firefly, Jimmi Hendrix, The Rolling S

Also I’ve currently got a small exhibition of prints at the very nice 6/8 Kafe in Birmingham until February 19th, so if your in the area pop in, they also do the best coffee I have EVER had.
