On Saturday I went to the Brush with Burlesque art exhibition at the East Gallery in Brick Lane, London where my Burlesque Festival print was on display and sale. It was a really good exhibition with a great mix of styles and artists. It was also very nice to meet the organisers Mark and Sarah Bell, so a big thanks to them for exhibiting my print!

Afterwards I attended a show at the 6th London burlesque festival, courtesy of two comp tickets from the organiser Chaz Royal, so thank you to you too!
Had a great time the show was excellent, below are some pics from the night, more are on my Facebook page too.

In partnership with the acclaimed producer and burlesque pioneer, Chaz Royal, I’ve designed and hand printed a souvenir poster for the London Burlesque Week 7-13th May.
This 1 colour hand pulled screen print measures an impressive 50cm x 70cm (approx) and is printed on a Gold 250gsm Peregrina Majestic art stock. Each print is signed & numbered and is strictly limited to an edition of 100 so as always once they’re gone they’re gone. They will be available to buy at the event and if there are any left over they will also be made available to buy online.

“The London audience is a mix of regular cabaret enthusiasts and curious newcomers, who appreciate the finest in burlesque performers as well as sheer glamour and tastefully risqué entertainment. We help develop the most talented new and established performers, right through from the avant garde to erotic, sexy circus artists, exposing them to an international stage and the acclaim of diverse audiences. It’s the biggest and best burlesque event in terms of performers and spectators ever to be brought to England’s great capital city. London Burlesque Week is full of colour, panache and excitement and is simply the greatest showcase of international burlesque talent on Earth.” - Chaz Royal

Over the weekend I had a stall at the Loughborough ‘SOCK’ arts and craft fair. Would just like to say a big thanks to everyone that came, and especially to those people that parted with their hard earned cash and bought one of my screen prints! I’ve got a stall at the Makers Mart craft fair coming up at the Curve theatre in Leicester at the end of April, and I’ll post more info closer to the time.

So I thought it was time that I took a break from Science fiction and take a look at my other favourite genre Fantasy, and what example better than Lord of the Rings? I never read the books, as being dyslexic I’m not much of a reader but thanks to Peter Jackson I now don’t have too. There’s also a little nod to The Beatles in there too!

Ok, it’s an obvious and terrible pun, but it makes me laugh, which probably says something about my sense of humour. I particularly like how Commander Data facial expression turned out on this one.

I came across this quote somewhere and was instantly inspired to make a print out of it. In these times of high fuel prices and global warming, I’d like to think H.G Wells would be encouraged that the humble bicycle is having a bit of renaissance, not sure how he’d react to the Planet of the Apes reference though

This 1 colour hand pulled screen print measures 50cm x 70cm (approx) and is printed on acid free 220gsm Fabriano Rosaspina art stock which has a deckled edge on the top and bottom. The very nice people at cool as leicester.co.uk are currently running an interview of little ‘ol me! I was very honoured to be asked as it’s my first ever interview about my work.
They are also holding a stupidly easy competition to win one of two of my screen prints that I have donated. So if you want to know more about my work or just want a chance to get your hands on a free print, check it out here: http://www.coolasleicester.co.uk

I thought I’d try my hand at less cheesy Valentines day print. So here’s a quote from one of my favourite TV shows 30 Rock as said by Liz Lemon the fictional character played by the lovely Tina Fey (also the creator of the show) With her love of food, star wars and all thing geek I think Liz Lemon would be my (almost) perfect girlfriend.
Enjoy! P.S If you take a close look you can see in the detail lots of little love heart, ahh.
